*Character Name(s): Emily Banks
*Race/Species: Were-raccoon
*Shift Trigger: Dark. Sun goes down, urges come out. Other triggers include "Shiny things" and a challenging treasure to gank. Doubly so if it's a shiny one.
*Gender: Female
Actual Character Age: 22
Home Territory(Place of Origin): Commack, N.Y. (Long Island)
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 133 pounds
Physical Build: Hardbody yet a bit over-curvy (36DD-24-36)
* Physical Description: Emily is a rather curvy young woman with brown hair going to her shoulders and dark green eyes. Her figure is exaggerated and almost impossible, having a heavy-legged build that makes her look like a floor-routine gymnast who went into light bodybuilding. Her arms are lightly muscled, and she sports a tight, sculpted tummy with just enough hint of abs to show off strength.
Normally, Emily dresses in T-shirts, comfortable blue jeans, trendy strappy boots, and a leather jacket. When clubbing, the T-shirt is replaced with a belly-T and a fishnet shirt is worn underneath. The boots stay, but the jeans are replaced by a short leather miniskirt. About half the time she wears fishnet stockings as well. Her wrists almost always sport wrapped bandannas or bangles of some sort. Her ears have four small stud earrings in each, and they are swapped out frequently.
Personal Information/History/Background:
Emily was raised entirely by her mother (who divorced her father before Emily was born because he was (in her words) "a cheating, lying sonofabitch prick who thought his dick was God's gift to womankind." What her father thought of her mother is something better left unsaid in polite company.
Emily's mother was and is a "career woman", someone who has made her job her life, and lets nothing deviate from it. As a scientist working for the most secret part of Briner Genetics Corporation, Emily's mother is nothing shy of a genius in the fields of biology, medicine, and genetics. She raised her daughter to high intellectual standards, but allowed her the freedom (as long as she kept up with her studies) to dress how she wanted, live how she wanted, and know whom she wanted. Emily lived completely up to these standards.
At age 13, though, Emily was diagnosed as having genetically-inherited retinal degradation, which would render her legally blind by 17 and clinically blind by 20. Worse, it would likely be passed down to any children. By age 15, Emily's sight had degraded enough that she needed large print books. By 17, she was reading braille.
During this time, Emily's mother was recruited into a secret program happening at Briner Genetics, the specifics of which Emily doesn't know. However, one day when she was nineteen, Emily's mom came home from work and told her that she had a new treatment that stood a better-than-good chance of restoring her sight. The side effects, though, were something awful: Emily would no longer be completely human.
The result of the treatment and discussion was that Emily became a were-raccoon, possibly the first (and thus far only) clinically produced were. Nonetheless, this was done in total secrecy by Emily's mom, without Briner Corp. knowing anything. The side effects, due to tampering done previously by Briner's partner in their top-secret private research, Perfect People Space Industries Incorporated of Japan, is what passed on unusual powers to Emily.
It took almost two years of mental rehabilitation by Emily's mom to put her newly-changed daughter back together again, something which she was able to do out of a mix of motherly devotion and fierce independent pride, dedication and professionalism. It took three years, two of which had Emily essentially confined in the Banks house, to finally reach the point where Emily had full control over her abilities and her shifting. Rather than hate any of it, though, Emily has utterly and totally fallen in love with what she has become, adoring her raccoon form, and wishes she had the freedom to be in it ALL the time.
Realizing finally that she wanted her freedom and some money, Emily, with the blessings (and some solid money) from her mother, has now come to New York, the beleaguered city, to hunt for a job, and a life.
* Number and Description of Weaponry and Training:
No real weapons, and no combat training, though her instincts are strong enough to make her a passable beginner fighter.
* Useful Trinkets or Items:
A small hoard of tech gadgets and goodies (her shinies), and a complete My Little Pony collection, each one stolen very carefully from antique toy dealerships.
* Vehicle: None
* Special Skills: (All are ONLY available in were-form)
A very low-grade telekinesis (self-oriented) that allows her to float as if weightless, or move slowly (at a walking pace at best). Emily can also move objects around at the same slow rate, and only things under 20 pounds or so.
She can move things for 20-30 seconds at most, but can move HERSELF indefinitely. Manipulation of objects is at Skill Rank 3.
Within line of sight (and there MUST exist clear line of sight), Emily can "pop" as she calls it, a short-range teleport which switches herself and the other area's volume of air (thus it is silent). NOTE - if she would appear in a solid object, she would be shunted to the side harmlessly (though she would be VERY shaken up and disoriented). She CANNOT "tele-frag" someone, PERIOD. No damage can be done to ANYTHING this way. Note this DOES tire her out, and more than one "pop" per three minutes is taxing.
"Phasing" - For lack of a better term for it. Emily can go de-solid and walk through things, people, etc. Outside of ignoring walls and the like, while in this form, Emily (and anything she carries) cannot interact physically with anything, and there is NO, repeat ABSOLUTELY NO effects from having her pass through ANYTHING. She can only remain in this state for all of 30 seconds.
* SKILLS TOTAL:
Speed of Shift 6
Shift Control 3
Shifting Repercussions - An uncontrolled shift can leave her slightly disoriented as she fights against the sudden surge of instincts.
Regeneration (3)
Heightened Senses (3)
Scent Tracking (3)
Natural Weapons: (1)
Skills
Medical 3
* Note - Emily's knowledge of medicine and anatomy were taught to her by her mother in what amounted to a LOT of home schooling. She's about as well-trained as a paramedic, and is familiar with human physiology and were-raccoon physiology, and to a FAR lesser degree general were physiology.
