Physical Description:
Just another twenty one year old shifter. His human form is lean muscle on the slightly lithe side if anything. He went blind as a child and leaned to cope with his disability early on, becoming accustomed to his new standard of living and able to function like any other human being, using his sense of sound, smell and touch. His Brown wavy hair lies around eye level and his white eyes are constantly covered by round full moon sunglasses.
His were form, a 6’ brown furred wolf. Weighing in at around 175 pounds with claws that don’t look too fun to play with are what he shifts to under the full moon. His eyes still a milky white color and paws as well as footpaws padded with soft pink pads which enable him to move quietly.
His Beast form is 6’ 2” and even bigger than his were form, but not by much. He gains a little more muscle proportional to his increase in size which contributes mostly to his speed. His fur shrinks slightly as to reduce the wind resistance but when running it sticks to his skin.
Personal Information/History/Background:
He must have been young when his mother died because he didn’t remember her in the slightest. His father never really had the time to care for him and could only focus on himself and with his work of keeping up the reserve they lived on. He was around 5 when he started going blind from a disease located in the mosquitoes on the reserve, the doctors had to analyze the new strain of the virus and formulate a cure. Sadly the age of 6 his Ophthalmologist declared him legally blind and two months before the cure was made and ready for administration. With his vision completely gone he learned different ways to cope with his disability, eventually learning the different sounds of proximity and breathing patterns of emotion. His father wished he could help, but with work taking up days at a time Orion learned to manage on his own for the most part. Because of his disability his father never let him step into a school or outside the hundreds of acres of government owned land that surrounded them because of a petty fear that he would get discriminated upon, plus Orion was needed at the house when his father was gone.
He learned to read brail, the only thing his father contributed to. He tried to help his son by buying books in brail, ranging from children’s books to college level texts on Psychology and Philosophy. When Orion took a book into the woods he would attempt to read silently but could only feel bumps under his fingers, nothing translated.
One day he was sitting on a rock, sighing in frustration when a native to the government preserved land came across him and asked the boy why he was so upset. Orion told him, and over time they would plan meetings at the same rock where he would learn to read brail. The native, whose name was simply “Wolf” taught him how to use hand to hand combat along with a basic rundown of a bow to help him survive outside of this enclosed world if he so chose to leave.
The native would see him just about every day except for some where the day before he would tell Orion “Tomorrow, I will not be able to meet. I have to practice a ritual twice a month and Orion...” he would pause “Promise me that on this night and all other nights like this, that you will remain indoors and tell your father that the ‘meeting has begun’ and he will know exactly what to do”. The boy nodded and did exactly as he was told, every night. When he grew up to be twenty, verging on his twenty first birthday the native he knew as simply “wolf” took him to his home, a small cave in the mountainside and told him something that changed his life forever.
“Orion, I am nearing death… I have taught you all that I can about living with your... blindness…” he said short of breath “I have only... one last thing... I need to introduce you to...” He said in a soft tone. Orion felt something warm at Wolf’s knees.
“W-Wolf... w-what are you talking about?” Orion spoke with a sense of fear in his voice, he felt around helplessly, trying to recover Wolf but no one was there... “Wolf?” he spoke again, his voice shaky “WOLF!!”.
“I’m here…” a reverberating deep tone answered. Orion felt the hairs on the back of his neck spike at the sound of the voice, it was coming from up above and had a trace of Wolfs voice in it.
“W-wolf?” Orion spoke softly.
“Orion... You are special... you have learned to deal with your disability and function like any other human being... and for that... you deserve my utmost… my utmost praise…” he spoke then nearly collapsed onto him. Orion could feel his hot breath on his neck and nearly froze.
“Take this...” wolf said and shoved a small tin case into his hands and put a once rough hand, now a large furred paw on the side of his head and tilted it slightly. Adrenalin was pumping through his system which blurred his sense of reality. “This will get you to New York... I want you... I want you to find your place... among… my people...” he spoke and as Orion drew in a slight breath to speak as Wolf sunk his fangs into his traps making him shriek out in agony. Shortly after he pulled his fangs out of Orion he collapsed onto him and he found that Wolf… was literally… a wolf…
Inside Wolf’s box was a hemp bracelet with an assortment of beads attached to it Orion used the money in the tin box which was roughly at five hundred dollars to buy a plane ticket to New York City and purchased a couple new articles of clothing along with a walking stick and sunglasses. Inside the box, along with the money was also one hundred shares of Raytheon Company™ and it’s subsidiaries. He had started a new journey in a town he had never been in before with a new life as a shifter, the most he could ask for was a foot/footpaw-hold to get started.
