Fear and Loathing in New York

Jennifer considers.

A mob of people rushing out all at once would make it difficult for a lone sniper to place shots, but if he did have friends waiting...well, it wouldn't matter, as they were sitting ducks inside the building. Still, everything in her police training indicated that panicked mobs were a bad thing, and lots of people could still get hurt...But which was the lesser of two evils?

"Do you think we could get everyone to evacuate at once?", she suggests hesitantly. "Once we hit the streets we can scatter, but we're sitting ducks here."

"A mass evacuation violates a lot of codes...but yeah, I can clear the joint in a hurry. What's the plan?"

JP frowns and eyes the female cop, wanting to know exactly how she intends to get everyone out of this place in one piece.

"I mean, if we're gonna flush the clientell, we gotta be ready for th' mass panic involved."

"Maybe so, but it's going to be a lot harder for a lone sniper to pick us off if we swarm. Of course, he might have friends waiting for us nearby, if we do evacuate..."

She glances over at the door again. Either way, it was going to be risky. Very risky indeed.

Looking back at JP, she shakes her head. "I don't know, do you have any other ideas? We can always hole up in here and wait for the police, but I'm not even sure if that will deter the sniper...Not if he knows who he's shooting for."

"That only leaves us one other option, ma'am. I'm afraid I'm gonna haveta play cowboy...which sucks."

He'd frown and start for the 'back room' areas of shifters. He really shouldn't be walking around with a gunshot wound...but then again, he doesn't appear to be bleeding either.

"C'mon..."

Jennifer scowls, but follows along, not knowing what else to do in this situation. It was kind of hard to play it by the book when it involved shifter hunters, after all.

JP, once he got into the back, would start taking off his shirt...this in turn would reveal his mechanical left arm in full view with full lights. Small risks, big rewards, as his muscles start swelling quickly.

"We'll have to go and stop this nutbag ourselves...or at least scare the fuckerrrr off."

He'd start shifting rapidly, body changing into the massive male werewolf with the silver and ice blue fur, clothes that remain tearing away from him.

Jennifer sighs.

"I was hoping it wouldn't come to this...I'm guessing you'll need someone to watch your back?", she says sardonically as she pulls off her shirt and unclasps her bra, hurriedly unbuckling her belt and kicking skirt and panties to the floor. Her body is already undergoing the transformation as she pries off her shoes, grunting as her bones warp and reposition themselves, gray and black fur sprouting over her body.

Having been born a were, she was quite tolerant of the transformation now, though it was never exactly a pleasant experience. Tonight, however, it was a necessity. She'll stop at the halfway point between raccoon and human, watching JP as he shifts.

"Yer a coon? Now we got problems lady..." He'd growl, turning into a massive lycanthrope that looks more at home in a horror story than the present NYC nightclub. The mechanical appendage shifts with him, amazingly, and looks like it could tear a face apart with little effort.

"How do I know yer not here t' try an' mark me an' th' rest of th' club?" He'd take up a defensive position, pulling his arm infront of his face protectively.

Jennifer rolls her eyes, her bushy tail waving behind her.

"Because it's already your territory and I like coming here so I don't want to get kicked out. Besides, I don't know of any other raccoons in the area so marking the place would be pointless."

She grins. "Now can we set aside our differences? I believe we have some ass to kick."

She looks the wolf over. He certainly was big and scary for his kind, but she had grown up with exposure to various other weres, so his frightening visage didn't really affect her as much. But then again he wasn't trying to tear her apart either.

"Fine, but you do one thing outta line, an' I'll smear you all over th' walls. Let's go out there an' figure out where this fucker is."

And with that, JP would lead the coon outside through the back doors, stopping just long enough to pick up his phone and send an 911 page to his mate...

Coon grumbles as she follows the wolf out. Lupines like him were all the same, more than a little full of it. It felt strange, and more than a little thrilling to be doing this. She'd been used to keeping her wereform hidden for so many years, and now here she was out in public, going out to kill somebody. Her parents would be so proud. *sarcasm* Of course, she knew what she was capable of, but she had been serious about respecting the territory of other weres. She wouldn't mark this guy's establishment, but she had visited some areas nearby when she had first discovered it. And she had yet to meet another racoon for it, so...

She waits on the werewolf to make the phonecall, taking cover and scenting the city smells on the air. She knew the scent of firearms discharge, but picking it out at this range would be difficult without a little luck. She knew the general direction the shots had been fired from, but of course, didn't want to just run out there without any direction, lest she end up getting shot herself.

Christina would indeed get that message while sitting in her office at TVC. After seeing the message, she would sigh and send a quick acknowledgement message and snap her phone shut.

"Yeesh... if I didn't know he was at work tonight, I might think he was just trying to get me to skipout on my work..." she would mutter to herself, going to get her coat and wallet before heading out into the dark city to help her mate out.

Atop another Roof, a man starts unpacking an unholy looking firearm.

"Longshot...one in a million...click click boom...heh he hheh hah heh heh."

The evil man begins assembling the weapon, while the Werewolf leads the were'coon to the meeting place where he hopes his mate will be waiting.

"Hey, Coongirl..." JP would growl over his shoulder as he slows down a bit to take a long look across the skyline. "If this turns into a fight, you need to run...that or use your scent...whatever the fuck you need to do to get out safe an' get help."

Christina would eventually dip into a dark alley and proceed to use that as cover as she shifts into a mid-sized werepanther and takes to the rooftops, using them to her advantage as she hurries to the meeting point.

Meanwhile, somewhere else in NYC, Clay would be frantically trying to find his other shoe while he dials JP's number.

"Shit... Alan is going to kill me... I know I missed my number... where the hell is my shoe??" he yells at no one in particular has he rips his apartment apart trying to find his stage shoe.

JP would be taken by surprise at the phone call! Lucky he'd gotten that damn belt-thing from TVC when it was offered...the massive paw cradles the tiny phone in two claws. "Hrrrrrrllo?"

Whispering when shifted, it never works.
